Why skin integrity matters in continence care
Incontinence-associated dermatitis is common and often preventable. Prolonged contact with urine or faeces damages the skin's barrier, which makes soreness, infection and further damage more likely. Wipes that are harsh, scented or alcohol-based can strip the skin's natural oils. A soft, unscented wipe, used with a gentle patting action rather than rubbing, helps protect the skin between changes.
If you're changing pull-ups or wraparounds several times a day, the wipes you use matter as much as the wearable product. If skin is already red, broken or sore, see your GP or a continence nurse rather than treating it yourself.
Body wipes vs baby wipes: can you use either?
Technically yes, but adult body wipes are designed for larger coverage and adult skin. Our body wipes are 33cm x 22cm, large enough to clean a full area without needing several wipes per change. Baby wipes are smaller and made for baby skin. For adult continence care, adult body wipes are the appropriate choice.
We also stock baby wipes in the range for people caring for both adults and children in the same household. They're bamboo fabric, alcohol-free and unscented.

Are Comfort First body wipes suitable for sensitive skin?
Our body wipes are unscented, bamboo-based and dermatologically tested, with skin tolerability confirmed on sensitive skin in an independent patch test. If you have a specific skin condition, check with your GP or a continence nurse before starting a new product.
Are your wipes flushable?
No. Comfort First body wipes and baby wipes are not designed to be flushed. Even wipes marketed as "flushable" can cause plumbing and wastewater blockages. All wipes should go in the bin, not the toilet.
Are Comfort First wipes tested?
Our body wipes are dermatologically tested by an independent dermatological test house, with skin tolerability confirmed on sensitive skin. If you'd like the details of a specific test, call us and we'll talk you through what we hold.
How many wipes do I need per week?
It depends on how often you're changing and how much cleaning each change needs. As a rough guide, two or three wipes per change is common, so a 50-pack lasts about a week for someone changed a few times a day. Our subscription plans can automate ongoing supply once you know your usage.
Are body wipes available through the NDIS?
Comfort First is a brand of Australian First Aid Distributions Pty Ltd (ABN 54 153 377 185), a registered NDIS provider.
