Why skin integrity matters in continence care
Incontinence-associated dermatitis is common and often preventable. Prolonged exposure to urine or faeces damages the skin's barrier, which makes infection and further damage more likely. Body wipes that are harsh, scented, or alcohol-based strip natural oils and contribute to breakdown. pH-balanced, unscented, hypoallergenic wipes maintain the skin's natural protection.
If you're changing pull-ups or wrap arounds multiple times a day, the wipes you use matter as much as the wearable product. Skin issues show up within weeks when harsh wipes are used, and they're slow to heal.
Body wipes vs baby wipes: can you use either?
Technically yes, but adult body wipes are designed for larger coverage and adult skin. Our body wipes are 33cm x 22cm, large enough to wipe a full area without needing multiple wipes per change. Baby wipes are smaller and designed for baby skin, which has different pH and moisture needs than adult skin. For adult continence care, adult body wipes are the appropriate choice.
We also stock baby wipes in the range for people caring for both adults and children in the same household. They're bamboo-based, gentle, and compatible with sensitive skin.

Are Comfort First body wipes safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. Our body wipes are pH-balanced, unscented, bamboo-based, hypoallergenic, and dermatologist tested. They're suitable for most sensitive skin types. If you have a specific skin condition, check with your GP or a continence nurse before starting a new product.
Are your wipes flushable?
No. Comfort First body wipes and baby wipes are not designed to be flushed. Even wipes marketed as "flushable" cause plumbing issues and waste water blockages. All wipes should go in the bin, not the toilet.
What certifications do Comfort First wipes hold?
Our body wipes are Vegan Friendly Certified, Made Safe Australian Certified Non-Toxic, and dermatologist tested. The bamboo fabric is hypoallergenic. We're continuing to add certifications as product testing completes.
How many wipes do I need per week?
It depends on how often you're changing and how much cleaning is needed at each change. For someone changed three to four times per day, two to three wipes per change is typical, so a 50-pack lasts four to six days. Our subscription plans can automate ongoing supply.
Are body wipes NDIS funded?
Yes, hygiene products including body wipes are covered under NDIS continence supports. Speak with your plan manager or visit our NDIS page to order under your NDIS plan.
